Leisure travel primarily motivates a person to take a vacation from everyday life. Leisure travel is often characterized by staying in nice hotels or resorts, relaxing on beaches or in a room, or going on guided tours and experiencing local tourist attractions.

Leisure is centered around relaxation, sightseeing and exploration. Characteristics of leisure trips such as eating at nice restaurants, staying in classy hotels, relaxing by a pool or beach, tourist attractions, and venturing to new parts of the world.
